Apcon Paterson was the lead consultant for this project for resource and building consent.
We carried out the engineering and design in conjunction with a contract draughtsman. Change of use from a factory required upgrade of fire and structural seismic building performance and new amenities.
The trusses in the older half of the building were changed to matching portals, with new weatherboard cladding and tinted & patterned glass windows.
We optimised the conflicting ventilation, acoustic noise emission, bracing and fire exposure to boundaries requirements to achieve an economical naturally ventilated complying building avoiding the cost of mechanical ventilation with further noise attenuation and located doors to minimize parking loss.
Our wide experience and integrated design solution saved time and money with less liaison between consultants, consenting and construction review time.
